The Four-Member Team

Walter Keller

Walter Keller, 32, a Physicist/Engineer from Bethel, Pennsylvania, USA. He has climbed extensively throughout the United States also Tibet, Pakistan and South America. He started his Himalayan climbing career on Mera Peak 6,450 meters in Nepal and has put up new routes on Nico Peak (5,800 meters), Pakistan and Mustagh Ata (7,546 meters), China. He made the first American and second ever ascent of a new route on Kutskulin Peak (6,060 meters), Pakistan. He reached 7,000 meters on Cho Oyu and 6,500 meters on Pumori before abandoning the climb through poor weather. He also has ascents of Aconcagua (6,995 meters) and a solo ascent Cerro Ameghino (6,000 meters) in Argentina.

Tim Boelter

Tim Boelter, 35, a filmmaker from St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. Tim began climbing in the mid 1980s while living in Korea. He has climbed extensively in the Untied States, including Colorado and the Cascades. In his quest to climb the Seven Summits, Tim has also completed successful ascents of Mt. McKinley, Kilimanjaro, and Aconcagua. In the fall of 2000, Tim reached the true 8,201-meter summit of Cho Oyu, the sixth highest mountain in the world. To his filmmaking credit, Tim’s first feature-length informational documentary, “Aconcagua: The Roof of the Americas” has won five non-broadcast awards, including two Tellies. And he has recently released his new film, “Cho Oyu, West of Everest.”

Phil Austin

Phil Austin, 35, an Osteopath from Maidstone in Kent, England was an army physical training instructor. He started climbing over 12 years ago and has climbed in New Zealand, the French Alps, Alaska, summiting Mount McKinley at 6,194 meters. He has also climbed various trekking peaks in Ladakh and Nepal. He reached 6,500 meters on Pumori, in the Nepal Himalayas before bad weather forced the expedition to be abandoned.

Mike Chrisp

Mike Chrisp, 48, a Dentist from Maidstone in Kent, England has been climbing since his teens. He has climbed extensively in Britain including Welsh and Scottish winters. He has also climbed in the French and Swiss Alps, the Dolomites, and the Pyrenees with ascents of the Eiger, Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and numerous other peaks to his credit. He has also climbed in the Himalayas and has reached 6,450 meters on Mera Peak.
